How We Help with Hormonal Health

What is Endocrinology?
Endocrinology is the study of hormones and the endocrine system, which consists of hormone-producing glands such as the pancreas, thyroid, adrenal, and ovaries etc. Hormones regulate essential functions such as energy levels, growth, metabolism, and reproduction. When hormonal imbalances occur, they can lead to conditions like diabetes, obesity, or bone diseases—this is where an endocrinologist comes in.

What Does an Endocrinologist Do?
An endocrinologist diagnoses and treats hormone-related conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, reproductive health concerns, and bone diseases. They manage endocrine abnormalities, hormone imbalances, and metabolic syndromes to help regulate vital body functions and improve overall well-being.
Endocrine Conditions We Treat
Our clinic offers expert care for various endocrine disorders, including diabetes, obesity, bone health, and thyroid disorders. We will guide you every step of the way, helping you manage and improve your health with tailored treatments and compassionate support.

Diabetes Management
Diabetes is a chronic condition marked by high blood sugar levels. The three main types are type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. At our clinic, we offer comprehensive care for diabetes, including nutritional counselling and treatment such as oral medications, insulin and non-insulin-based therapy.

Obesity & Weight Management
We understand that managing weight is not always simple, and we are here to help. We provide customised weight management plans that combine medical expertise, lifestyle guidance, and compassionate care to address obesity and its health-related challenges. Work with us to create a sustainable plan tailored to your needs.

Osteoporosis & Bone Disorders
Osteoporosis leads to reduced bone density and an increased risk of fractures, especially in older adults. Using professional diagnostic tools and personalised treatment plans, our team will work with you to strengthen your bone health and improve your overall well-being.

Thyroid Disorders
Thyroid imbalances can affect metabolism, energy levels, and overall health. We diagnose and treat thyroid conditions such as thyroid nodules, hypothyroidism, to restore hormonal balance.

Reproductive Endocrinology
We specialise in managing complex reproductive endocrinology issues for both men (andrology) and women. We manage conditions from perimenopause and menopause to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS), erectile dysfunction, low testosterone levels and more. Begin your journey towards better reproductive health and well-being today.

Pituitary Disorders
The pituitary gland plays a crucial role in maintaining hormonal balance in the body. Pituitary disorders, such as pituitary adenomas, can interfere with the gland’s normal function. At our clinic, we diagnose and manage these conditions, restoring the gland’s function and overall hormonal balance.

Adrenal Disorders
There is a wide range of adrenal disorders, including Cushing’s Syndrome and adrenal insufficiency. We provide specialised care to help manage symptoms and restore hormonal balance for better health and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need to see an endocrinologist?
You may need to see an endocrinologist if you experience symptoms that suggest a hormonal imbalance or gland-related issue. Common signs include unexplained weight changes, persistent fatigue, excessive thirst or urination, irregular menstrual cycles, difficulty conceiving, sudden hair loss, or changes in skin texture. Other indicators include swelling in the neck (possible thyroid issues), bone fractures from minor injuries, or symptoms related to diabetes, such as slow-healing wounds. If you notice any of these, consult your primary care doctor, who may recommend seeing an endocrinologist for specialized care.
Do I need a referral to see an endocrinologist?
No, you do not need a General Practitioner (GP) referral to see an endocrinologist in Singapore. You can contact the specialist clinic directly to make an appointment. However, if you are unsure about your condition, visiting a GP first can provide an initial assessment and, if needed, a referral.
What can I expect during my first visit to an endocrinologist?
During your first visit to our clinic, Dr Gani will begin by explaining the examination process. She will review your medical history, allowing you to share your symptoms, concerns, and relevant past health issues.
Next, a physical examination will be conducted to assess visible signs related to endocrine disorders. Dr Gani will examine areas such as your neck, skin, tongue, eyes, and feet for clues indicating hormonal imbalances. She will also check your vital signs, including your blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, and body temperature.
If further testing is needed to confirm a diagnosis, Dr Gani may order additional lab work or assessments. After analysing the results and information, she will develop a preliminary diagnosis and discuss the next steps with you.
